Team Journal Club would like to extend a warm welcome to our new interns and your family members. This past year has once again provided us with some incredible challenges, and I want to thank everyone for your contributions to help keep JC relevant, interesting, and fun. This month, we will discuss an important “bread and butter” EM topic namely, the evaluation and management of the acute stroke patient. We will discuss stroke alert assessments, thrombolytics, mechanical thrombectomy, the therapeutic window, perfusion scanning and even the concept of covert strokes. Also included is an article annually distributed for our newbies titled: “Successful hospitalization of patients with no discernible pathology”. It’s a fun read. Hope to see you there! Charlie
